Assam Black Tea

Assam Este Black Tea is the most common and popular type of tea in the world. This is the version that is usually sold as breakfast blends and it is also known by generic names like English Breakfast tea, Scottish Breakfast tea and Irish Breakfast tea among others. This tea produces and exports over hundreds of thousands of tons to various regions of the world. This tea is grown in the Indian region of Assam and it lies on both sides of the famed Brahmaputra River which lies on the border of Bangladesh and Burma. This is also a region that produces some types of green and white tea. The main reason why this area is conducive for the growth of tea is the climate which is all about hot temperatures and year round rainfall with a touch of humidity, which are the perfect requirements for the growth and processing of tea leaves. The roots of Assam Estate Black Tea can be traced to a Scottish adventurer named Robert Bruce who discovered it in 1823. He stumbled upon it growing as a plant of the wild while on a trading mission in Assam. Assam Tea had already made its way to the United Kingdom as soon as 1830. This tea is considered to be popular for its unique taste acquired from growing at sea level climate instead of mountain areas.
The Assam Estate Black Tea is characterized by its malt-like, rich taste which has the ability to create hybrid teas when blended with other versions of black teas. The leaves that give off Assam tea leaves are usually black with bright tips and they give off some reddish tea with a rather sweet taste. Assam tea production has taken a hit because of local consumption, but this is set to change with the higher demand from the American market which has seen the medical benefits of tea.
Some of the health benefits of Assam Estate Black Tea include protecting the drinker from tooth decay, heart attacks, strokes, cholesterol, arthritis, headaches, stress or anxiety and also dementia. Applying black tea on sunburns, cuts and bruises can quickly heal them because of the special medicinal properties of tea. As much as this tea is considered high-end, its variation found as part of breakfast blends can be found the world over in price-controlled situations. Enjoy this type of tea as a beverage or as a medical alternative where possible and you will not regret it.
